The Friends of Townhill Park House and Gardens


The gardens have in recent years have been restored by the Friends of Townhill Park House Gardens and volunteers are always sought to help with the upkeep of the listed Gertrude Jekyll gardens.

If you would like to become a member of The Friends, the annual subscription is £5.00 for single or £8.00 for family. Members get additional viewing access to the gardens twice a year on 'Members only afternoon'. Members also receive regular newsletters and invitations to restricted entry events. The subscription and proceeds from open days are held by the Treasurer and used to buy items such as plants. If you would like to visit the gardens we hold Open Days throughout the year:

2025 Dates

  • Sunday 23rd March 2-4pm
  • Monday 5th May 2-5pm
  • Sunday 6th July 2-5pm
  • Heritage Day - Sunday 14th September 2-5pm

We have 'Posse Days' throughout the year when we gather as a team to spend time working on the lovely Heritage Gardens and warmly welcome keen gardeners to join us on some or all of these days.  Refreshments are provided half way through each session.  Please wear suitable gloves, clothing and footwear and bring basic tools for weeding and cutting back overgrown or prickly shrubs. Larger tools will be provided.
